i edit a lifestyle show here and i use both 24p and music videos (which i encode to avi 29.997). What i do is i cut up the 24p dv footage and render to avi in a 29.997 timeline. then i take that footage into a new project (in a 29.997 timeline) with the videos and final render out to mpeg2 DVD NTSC. Now why is it that the footage looks soft? doesnt have that sharp trailing film like effect that the canon does? or does anyone know what im talking about? i also see in properties in vegas that i can choose motion blur and deinterlace method? should i use any of this since im using 24p and non 24p video? the only thing in my project that isnt 24p are the videos and commercials. should i just use a 24p timeline and hope the videos dont interlace? i really dislike this soft look and motion blur everytime there's movement on the screen. somebody help me.
