I've never liked the way retiming a) displays the variable frame rate playback graph, and b) contstains clip lengths so if you want to slow something down to 50%, something on the other side will be sped up to a speed greater than 100% which I never want to do--and so, am always kind of pissed.
The new motion 3 has a cool way to handle this. The retiming action will allow you to simply put in a key framed percentage. So, "Okay, we're chuggin' along here at 100% and I want to slow this action to 50% and softly ease back into a 100%, which will obviously extend my overall clip length but that's what I want anyhow. No big. And even more I think I'll go down to the keyframe editor here and really true this puppy up..." BUT wait! The keyframe for the retiming don't show up in the keyframe editor. Why? Anyone?
