Most tasteless film in history?

Nope. I don't believe it... I don't... nobody could possibly like any of his films aside from watching them solely to mock how terrible they are..

Actually, since this thread started I decided to go back and watch a movie of his.
Finally watched 'Rampage' a couple of days ago, and I have to say that it was not terrible.
It may have been better in the hands of someone else (I didn't think it was very well edited, personally) - definitely not a great film,
but it was much better and much more engaging than I ever expected it to be.

None of his other movies seemed too interesting to me in regards to the subject matter - but that one was at least interesting.

Just sayin'

The part where the general is standing outside is incorrect. And there was only 1 tiny peep hole. Specially made for one of the top general's.

But it works great for dramatic effect. The general's attitude is what I believe is being showcased. For him this is just work. By the way Uwe Boll has 2,143 friends on Facebook including six who are mutual friends of mine. Three of them are scream queens though.

Also "Bloodrayne: The Third Reich" is coming out so I'm assuming this franchise is making money. He's got two other films coming in the next two years, neither of them seem to be this one as someone mentioned before.

Uwe Boll recently released a short teaser trailer for his upcoming Holocaust film "Auschwitz," showing Jews in concentration camps getting gassed and then cremated. Most who have seen this trailer, have found it offensive and simply awful filmmaking. And Boll can't figure out why. "What's pissing me off is if anybody else made a movie like this it would be in the running for an Oscar. I do it and I get bashed by everybody," Boll told Viceland. "Why do I get counted as an idiot? I'm a Doctor of Literature. I studied economy. The public opinion about me is completely on the wrong track." He continued: "Fifty percent of people don't even think the Holocaust happened, and I make a movie about it and I get criticized for it. Half of my crew for 22 movies have been Jewish. My best friend where I live in Vancouver is Jewish. It's completely absurd.

I got this from IMDB. The actual article is: http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=18954 So apparently this is a project he's working on.

That's a fifth-graders come-back.

"Fifty percent of people don't even think the Holocaust happened..." Um. I'd like to see where he's getting those numbers, if from anywhere other than his head.

"My best friend where I live is Jewish." I think dolphins are cute. Please don't kill the dolphins.

"I'm a Doctor of Literature. I studied economy." Either that is the journalist juxtaposing relevant quotes...or he is really trying to make himself sound ten times bigger than he really is. Did that sentence come across kinda' weird to anyone else? "Doctor of Literature...I studied economy." Hummm...

I did get a chuckle from it actually.

Well it depends what "Doctor of Literature" means. For all we know it is a mistranslation or the German equivalent of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

According to his wikipedia page:
"He studied at the University of Cologne and the University of Siegen, and holds a doctorate in literature."

I'm more impressed by doctorates held in technical fields.

Well, any useful field of study at all, really.

Literature?

*snort*

Actually Literature is totally useful for filmmaking, I don't know how one would think it's not.

Sure, being literate is vitally important.

Expending time and $$$ on a sheepskin proclaiming that you are a Doctor of Literature is...

...not. Save perhaps to the degree it reinforces your ego. Or permits you to go for certain positions in professional academia whose utility is likewise open to question.

If you didn't start reading as a child, the odds that you will do anything meaningful by the time you reach grad school are vanishingly small.

I agree literature is incredibly important in filmmaking.

Filmmaking is storytelling. Every aspect of filmmaking is there to support the story told in the screenplay. The better you understand storytelling and literature, the better you tell a story.

Whatever he knows about storytelling though, isn't put to much use in the films of his that I've seen.
