Most powerful cooling pad for 17" laptop?

Hi,

I actually think this should belong to "post production-general hardware"....but since such section does not exist I decided to post here :cheesy:
I have a quad core 8 gb HP (Pavilion dv7t-3000) laptop that gets super hot whenever I'm doing intense cpu tasks (playing full hd videos into my hd tv via hdmi, editing video on premiere, treating photos on photoshop and so on). I'm currently using the NZXT cooling pad (with 3 fans) but I didn't see much of a difference. I was wondering what is the most powerful cooling pad in the market for 17" laptops (it's actually 17,3").

thanks

Rafa

Cooling pads don't seem to really cool down laptops, I've read real test measuring temeperature and the results didn´t vary at all.
So my solution was to put the laptop in the vent of my AC unit. It cooled it down by 30-50º XDDDD

Arctic Silver 5 helps cool laptop temperatures. Also undervolting if your laptop allows it. And any kind of raised platform to allow ventilation underneath can help. I found the usb powered cooling pads useless, but then again I haven't used one of those in about five years.

Depending on how long you've had your laptop and whether or not you have pets, smoke, etc. you may have clogged air vents in your lappy. That happened to me a few years back: I tried buying all the latest and greatest laptop cooling solutions, none of which worked, so I decided to take apart my laptop to check under the hood. Needless to say, it was caked with dust from cat dander, compounded by smoke (I'm a smoker). Once I took a can of compressed air to the insides of my laptop, I don't need a cooling fan anymore.
