In light of my boy Brian Urlacher getting voted "Most Overrated player in football" I decided to cast a few of my own "overrated" votes in the world of film.

Pulp Fiction

MOST OVERRATED ACTOR EVER
Tie:
Matt Damon and Russel Crowe

MOST OVERRATED ACTRESS EVER
Julia Roberts (duh)

MOST OVERRATED DIRECTOR EVER
Martin Scorcese

I feel very passionately about these choices. Particularly the first one. So yeah. Go ahead. Start screaming.

yeah i totally agree, pulp fiction is wayyyy overrated..I mean R, i wouldve thought pg13 but R is a very harsh rating for that movie.

I think that Pulp got a lot of hype. It's what Nirvana was to pop music. It's not about how good the movie is (and, it is) as much as it the context that movie was viewed in. It was like a breath of fresh air. It was original and derivative at the same time. It was provocative. It's not in my top ten, but I understand why it caused such a stir. It was like nothing mainstream American filmgoers had ever seen, yet it was presented to them in a way they could relate to (almost). Not an easy task, that.

And it's way less overrated than Titanic. Not original, not much more than an overpriced, overacted, technological soap opera.

I liked the profit margin on Blair Witch Project though :D

Actor.....Nicolas Cage
Actress....Sandra Bullock (She can be funny, but she needs to stretch herself)

Director.........Lucas (He is an excellent producer and visionary)

Actor. John Travolta (actually is what ruins pulp fiction for me.) should have stopped at looks whos talking.

Actress. Helen Hunt & Jennifer Lopez

Director. Lucas (Great techie and thinker, terrible director ex:episode 2)

Good list.  Dont agree with the Pulp one but the other ones are on.

As far as The starter list? Damon and Crowe in the same subject line? Crowe is great. I cant agree or even see any of that being true!

Titanic... but then I never got to see it in its entirety. All that water and the constant sloshing sounds made me spend half the screen time in the ladies room. Plus I get motion sick on boats, so when I didnt have to go pee, I was more than a little nauseated. Sat too close to the screen, I guess.

I recently watched the hyped Indie film 'Elephant', it was Van Sant's big 'Indie thing' that blew up at Toronto and was all the rage. I thought it was pretty week, but I've read all these reviews about how the big time director still holds his Indie roots, blah, blah. I thought it was self serving, boring and trite. Maybe not the most overrated, but certainly a dissapointment. (imho)

I like DiCaprio. Catch Me was a great film, can't wait to see The Aviator.

Movie- Titanic

Actor- Crowe

Actress- Bullock

Director- Rodriguez... that's right! I said it! You can all hate me now! Yes I enjoy his films very much, they are some of my favorites. But I think his mediocrity is looked overlooked because he is so grassroot. Just MHO. I also think he needs to learn to be a team player, sure it's fun to have your hand in EVERYTHING, but sometimes, for the good of the project, you need to go outside your own box. That being said, I would probably do the same thing. :D
