Most Memorable Threads of 2004

You must answer this without "searching." Answer has to be off the top of your head..they can be technical or cafe stuff, anything, I guess..

Mine:

Well, I started out on the site in the latter part of the year, so I don't have that much "memory" but the thread that really started to make me realize you all are real people and funny at that -- was reading:

"DVX on Steriods"

ahhh..let the reminiscing begin.

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

I am a latercomer (missed a lot I am sure), but I'll never forget the image of Terri in her PJs, bathrobe and fluffy slippers driving her truck to Hardee's to fetch some coffee... and the whole discussion surrounding that.

Merry Christmas!

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

Okay, confession time and I will probably loose a lot of respect on this board by admitting this....

One of my favorite threads was the Steven Spielberg/George Lucas thing...

Here's the thing...I created the Steven Spielberg user name and used it to be really silly. I had fun at the time but deleted the account before it got too out of hand.

So, how much damage is this confession going to cost me? 8)

I never did find out who masqueraded as Mr. Lucas.

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

YOU were Spielberg?!  :o

Last person I would guess in a million years!

PS - It was funny - Respect 100% intact!

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

HA! - Too much. ;D

Man I would have guessed you two were 15 years old.

Just goes to show how people will act behind a mask...

I prefer to think of it as young at heart :)

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

I'm with Jim, I'm still brand new to this. I don't I remember anything crazy, except for the sergj dude. Other than that I don't even remember anything I wrote.

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

Spider the Cambodian...Now that's funny. Yeh, I think watching John Hudson rounding up Serji the wonder poster was some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen. Good for John that he only ever went to Defcon 2 ;D

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

I think the cartoon builder thread was hilarious.

The whole Matt McDermitt thing, upon reflection, was probably creepy for him.

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

Rich you were Lucas? That was funny. You responded as Lucas several weeks ago, or someone did. I think the one that stuck out the most was TC in a banana suit and all the fun stuff that was created in that thread.

The worst was when Happy 4th turned into and into name calling and FU. That was crazy stuff.

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

I cannot remember for the life of me but TC and I and a few others were in a thread about a month ago that was just ridiculously strange and ongoing. I think TC and I posted about 5 or 6 pages in the course of an hour on nothingness.

Great thread.

TC, you remember this one?

Don't think that narrows it down much. ;)

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

I'd probably go with the now-banned political uber arguments. They got pretty heated on occasion. Always a treat! ;)

LOL ! :D

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

I do remember that! I remember re-reading everything in the morning and wondering what the hell we were doing.

Re: Most Memorable Threads of 2004

My favorite DVXuser memory is when someone was refering to how many posts I was accumulating and called me John Jr. or Little John, or something refering to me as his protege. And that's when I got the idea for my avatar. :D

My other favorite was talk or Barry S's smiley seeking bot.

Favorite thread has to be the cartoon one.
