Most Embarrassing DVD In Your Collection?

hi. this may very well end up as the most pointess thread i've started but...

looking over my collection, i have a few titles in there that simply do not fit amongst all the bergman, kieslowski and tarkovsky titles. for example, Teen Witch. admitedly, it belongs to my girlfriend but it sticks out like a sore thumb when friends peruse my DVDs. I also had the criterion release of Armegeddon I acquired from an EX-girlfriend, but eventually sold it. :)

so, do you have anything personally embarrassing in your collection? any high-brow cineastes out there with a dreadfully trite, paint by numbers piece of **** that does little more than appeal to the lowest common denominator? or any meat and potatos guys out there with a subtitled b/w foreign film about lesbian biker gangs and knife wielding midgets that wound up on your shelves for one reason or another?

let's hear 'em!

btw, this will be a veeerrry subjective thread. let's keep it civil, huh?

Some would argue that my entire collection is an embarrassment, but I stand by everything in it. I have some really good movies, but I'm quite proud of my collection of horrible movies (which grows larger with every passing week).

No no no. A great thread cygnet74 !

Most Embarrassing ?

I have so many. This ranks as Numero Uno I believe

The New Kids

Honorable Mentions:

The Breakfast Club

The most embaressing I ever owned would be Honey. Thanks to ebay it was someone else's embaressing movie with a few days of that mistake. Other than that I may have some bad movies but nothing left that I would say embaressing . (and I like The Breakfast Club and Weird Science).

Xanadu.

Wow. I can't believe I shared that. :(
WHAT? That movie is an iconic cultural tribute to roller disco -- penultimate early-80's kitsch. A cult favorite. Plus the soundtrack slays -- didn't it deliver like four #1 hits?

You're not allowed to be embarrased by that. Instead, you must now go out and buy a second copy.

Wow! Now I have to put "Barry Green gives this movie a thumbs up." on the cover. That will make me feel better about owning a second copy too.

I just thought of another one:

I can explain. When my copy of Dario Argento's Opera was defective (it was a bad batch), Anchor Bay sent me a replacement and a copy of Supergirl as a bonus for some reason.

Boondock Saints... but Overnight more than made up for it.

That guy was the closest thing to a modern-day Icarus that I can recall. Too bad he's not a myth as well.

Species 3 - http://imdb.com/title/tt0410650/
- attractive women, excessive cheese.

Vampires VS. Zombies - http://imdb.com/title/tt0408309/
- made by Vancouver based indie production company, had to give support.

Zipperface - http://www.coldfusionvideo.com/z/zipperface.html
- managed to buy it at a Dollar Store, go figure. The review makes it sound quite a bit better than it is.

4th Beast of the AntiChrist (preliminary edition) - http://imdb.com/title/tt0436018/
- decided to support part of the community. One can only truly appreciate it if they've seen it with their own eyes.
(embarassed cuz I spent over $20US with shipping to get it when I can buy films made by Nolan, Tarantino, Speilberg etc. for a little as $6.99 - not embarassed to own it)
(props to the filmmaker cuz he apparently got real distribution, something I have never achieved)
