Most disturbing movies you've seen?

I define disturbing only with Irreversible. Others are just effects & prop movies.

Although The Experiment can be called disturbin in a way.

I saw the Omen movies as a kid, as well as "Salem's Lot" and they scared th crap out of me. Now I'm looking forward to the new Omen and hoping it's a good horror flick.
As an adult, that film with Robin Williams where his wife dies and goes to purgatory or Hell or something ... "What Dreams ... something" I don't remember the title and didn't feel ike looking it up. But that film disturbed me in an emotional sense. I was unhappily married at the time and it hit me right where I needed to be hit in order to leave. The whole idea of "I'd go through all this because I love you just that much." Because I DID NOT feel that way in my marriage ... Anyway.

Also "Passion of the Christ" disturbed me spiritually--rather than because of the gore itself. There have been others but I can't remember.

"Requiem" seem to hold it's ground against that statement. Overall, it is more powerful.

i just showed my 16 year old niece The Shining. She loves horror movies and is never freaked out or scared by them but she said she's going to be having nightmares from The Shining.

freaky movie.

Ken Park. There's also a short video on the internet of a Russian soldier having his throat cut with a dull knife. Between the two I'm pretty much set for life on the being disturbed end of things.

Irreversable utilized effects and props as much as any other film. However, what makes it so disturbing isn't the visuals, but the knowledge that what happens in that film occurs every day.

X-men 3, the last stand. It brought me nightmares- that day to night transition and the slaughtering of a decent storyline built in the former two movies really made me lose sleep after watching it.

Seriously, tough , the Exorcist really gave me the creeps when I first watched it when I was 5. I got nightmares for a week!

More recently, maybe the movie "The Grudge 2" - JAPANESE VERSION- gave me the closest feeling of scare. It was a well done horror movie (a lot better than the first japanese one) with very interesting twists...

Because of that movie, I always think twice before taking a bite of cake.

I saw it when i was like 16 and had a fake id to get into the movies, i still remember it vividly and still believe those kids tortured at the end were really tortured... it looks way toooo real!

Have you seen Aeon Flux yet?
On this level.... Worse than that have you seen Ultra Violet. Of the two I much prefer Aeon Flux.

Growing up we were only allowed to watch Little House and Wild Kingdom. So When I turned 18 (back in the early 80's) and moved out on my own I of course bought my own little TV so I could watch what the hell I wanted. Yea Salem's Lot may not have been my best choice. I can still see that vampire hovering at the window. I grabbed all the sharp edged items in the house and put them under my bed... like that is going to stop a damn vampire.

What is disturbing at this point is pretty much any thing with cannibalism, not sure what the attraction to that is but there seems to be a whole bunch of it lately.

"Man Bites Dog"

I've been trying to remember the title to that movie. It was banned in many countries because it was just too disturbing. Great freaking movie! Anybody know where I can get it? Thanks!

Netflix.

Or if you want to own it try Amazon or something.

If you liked Man Bites Dog you should try Last Horror Movie i think its called.

Almost identical premise but i think the main character is a bit more entertaining and it was shot on DV.
