Cool Rig. Diddo on making spin more slowly. What monitor is that?
Also, not sure if it's a typo or a joke - on the About page, it says you've "participated in many fascists of production". I hope you meant facets.
Any case, good start. You may want to consider just having a site dedicated to cinematography. Directing credits for DP's scare directors away. It would seem it's good to know your DP has directed before but in reality I think it's the old "don't advertise you know more than the boss" philosophy.
I like the graphics on the site.
Tim Naylor - DP (and director on another site - soon to be launched)
Noted. I'll be updated everything on the site over the next few weeks... just wanted to show off the rig. What does everyone think of using the V-mount battery to counterbalance the wait of the monitor?
It's very nice but post some nice big proper pics on here, so we can see it clearly. For example what monitor is that and it's powered by the sony v-mount battery? I've never seen that before. Also what mattebox is that?
I'll be posting a section about the camera, and the adapter later this week.
The Sony V-Mount battery is on the side because this being my 2nd 35mm Adapter (had Redrock and hated it) the monitor pulls all the weight to the left and makes it awkward to use.... tried back weight... doesn't really help. Yes, it powers the monitor... it was as simple as cutting a cable and using 2 pieces of electrical tape. Soon it will power the SGpro, and the monitor with a switching regulator.
Mattebox, Hyson Films New X Mattebox... it's awesome.
Also have the Birns & Sawyer shoulder mount... which is great cause the noga arm (mount with the zacuto mount) makes switching to the shoulder as easy has moving the monitor next to the mattebox.
Monitor is the Xenarc 7" LCD monitor. It has almost the same specs as ANY lcd hd field monitor since NONE of them have a pixel size larger than 850x480.... doesn't seem to be much point in outputting hd to a more expensive monitor when I know the resolution will always be limited to SD until a true HD monitor comes out.
Stay tuned... I'll have some great video up there soon to.
Mm shiney. Is the Vlock battery hanging on the side just to powr the monitor? does it lock onto a plate and then give you arri type 4 pin XLR power out? I could do with one of those...
