more ram or graphics card

i actually have been on old equipment for a while no tests or use real world

have been out of the production side and editing no experience, just others reviews
i will have a review of a Gateway budget laptop up on my YouTube soon i3 < i5 32nm dualie

what kinds of drives do you work off of? i found that moving from fw800 to eSATA gave more of a performance jump than either ram or graphics card

i agree with a few of the posts here in this thread about the type of HD's being used and it affecting performance.

here is a couple of post i did awhile back showing the performance differences when using a Multiclip sequence on either a FW400 7200rpm, FW800 7200rpm or an internal SATA 7200rpm drive. the difference is significant.

tests were done on two different 8 core Mac Pro's. there are *2* posts with the test results on this page for anyone thats interested.
