More Mic Samples - This time you guess the mic!

Howdy,
A few more mic samples. This time it was recorded in an old Acadiana style house with high ceilings. The room is all wood, highly reflective with nothing to dampen the sound. Each mic was placed in a boom about 3-4 feet above me. I took a picture of the setup. This time I didn't name the mics, their identity is revealed at the end of the file after the 10 seconds of room tone. I would read a bit, then take a step to the left, read a little, then step again to the left to show off axis response, then walk back towards the mic. A few seconds of room tone, then name the mic. If you want to keep it fair, pause the clip at the room tone and listen to all mics before making a judgement.. Contenders are AKG CK63/69, Neumann KMR81, Oktava MK012, Sanken CS3e,
Enjoy..

That's it for now...

On a low budget movie I was Production mixer for, mic4 was used in 90 percent of the shots, indoors/out..

Agree

Mic 4 sounds really good on this recording in this location. Besides some levels differences between the different mics my choice would be :

#1 : mic 4
#2 : mic 1
#3 : mic 5
#4 : mic 2 & 3

BTW What capsule did you have on the Oktava ?

I was using the Hyper cap on the Oktava. Levels were difficult to set, the 788t was on the side of me and when I looked over to set levels, I'd be way off axis. Maybe I'll rig up a mirror next time..
