More cartoon than movie?

Hello, I was talking to a few people that I let read the premise of my script and they all seemed to think it was more of a cartoon series, than a movie. How can you tell which the idea is suited more for. Or can the idea be taken either way.

Depends how you look at it. Spiderman, Superman, X-Men, Batman, Sin City, Hellboy - all cartoon origins.

I'm going to sound like a nerd, but I wouldn't call these cartoons. Those are comic books. I'd call Family Guy a cartoon.

Not sure what the original poster meant. But I would think that tone, budget concerns, and audience could all play a role in whether you turn your story into a live action or animated film.

Well thats a reasonable enough point. Malandrain, what specifically where you talikng about when you said cartoon.

I guess a good example would be somethign alogn the lines of avatar. A cartoon but with some mature material.
