Looks nice. What is that smokey substance though? Is it a lens effect from the original camera shot? It sort of looks like the object should have a little more of that in front of the object.

Those cloths look pretty convincing.

Thanks man.

Ya, the smoke is actually steam coming off of the trees. It had rained and then the sun was evaporating massive amounts of moisture.

I added light rays too, so it is a bit accentuated.

I had the same thought about having some steam in front of the twisty sculpture. I could have put a slight cloud in front of it, but then I realized that it wouldn't actually be there in the real world because all the steam was set back (across the road) from where the sculpture is sitting.

Here's the original:

It was a good lesson in camera mapping because I wanted to slightly blur the added elements and isolate just the ground shadows for color correction. If I split all the layers in the image up, it didn't quite look as good when layered together as a flat render did. I learned that this is quite a normal happening for C4D or any 3D program for that matter. So, it's best to use multi-pass sparingly. I learned to make use of the blend layer so that I could seperate the minimal amount of elements it would take to accomplish what I wanted to do in post.

There is always more to learn.
