More bottom feeders on Craigslist.

You mean like free dental work... (that isn't flagged for removal)?

"I am a fourth year dental student and I am getting ready to take my clinical license exam. I am looking for people who would be willing to been screened to become a patient for my exam. The screening involves an exam and x-rays. If you meet the requirements you will serve as my patient for up to 3 procedures (cleanings and fillings). Please email me if you are interested and give me a short background on your dental history. Please include your age, when was the last time you were seen by a dentist, when were your last x-rays, etc. Ideally I am looking for teenage people up through 30 years of age who typically have a bad habit of NOT flossing!"

The funny thing is, I recall back in the days of Craigslist's late unlamented 'personals' section the whole 'no flossing' bit seemed real popular, too...

Out of curiosity, how much is going to the dentist in the US? In Sweden it's free until you're 20. After that, in some places there are pretty good payment plans. I think a checkup would cost less than 50 bucks, but it's been two or three years since I went because of Marianne so I don't remember the exact cost.
You could also pay a low monthly fee and get examined whenever you want, unless you have like a special problem.

In Canada, you're generally looking at $120-200 for a checkup and cleaning if you have no insurance. Tack on some more for fillings and x-rays. Dental insurance is pretty common as a benefit, generally they pay 80% for routine work, and 50% for major. So a check-up would cost you $20-30, and getting braces for your kids would be in the $2,000-$4,000 ballpark.

In the US, if you audibly speak the words "doctor," "dentist," "nurse," or "hospital," you're looking at a $25 professional fee, $45 service charge, $30 technical fee and a $120 "just because we can" fee.

Not sure, but I think the dentist fees usually average around $100-200 per visit, up to $300-400 if you're getting a bit of work done. I'm probably way off, though, as I haven't been to the dentist in a good while.

If I ever get the opportunity to move to Austin, it might be cheaper for me to fly back to Sweden once a year for dental and health checkups.
