i have a vx2100 that i purchased a year or so ago. i am really happy with the image of the camera. for what i have been doing which is mostly sports and such audio hasn't been that important but i have been getting a bug in my ear to add an extra edge to my videos(and also for school projects). my idea was a at4073a shotgun mic, hd280 headphones, beachtek with phantom power, boompole, and obviously some xlr cable. all of this stuff will cost me probably around 1300 once i am all done with it. now my real question is should i just upgrade my camera to something like the dvx100a or pd170. will the audio be any better if i get one of these cameras or will i be fine with just getting the extra components for my current camera. and i am not talking about using the on camera mic i mean upgrading the camera and buying all the same stuff, except for the beachtek i would no longer need. thanks for your help.
