Notes from when I watched it on Saturday: Fair production value/camera, but everyone other than a couple key actors were pretty poor in delivery of dialogue. FX/Edits could have used work, like when the needle is thrown into his neck ... didn't look believable. That whole scene, with the lady sitting in the hall "watching her show" was proabably the weakest of the story.

Liked the window washer & bank guard/customer reactions. Funny. The ending boardroom scene worked with a lot of humor as well, though again the FX (gun shot) needed improvement.

Sound overall, specifically mic, could use improvements.

There was a bizarre Fight Club feel to this, and it really worked. The lead character was like an undead Tyler Durden - especially with his end speech.

I think there should've been more makeup on the guy - he just looked really wasted. Not disturbing enough to make window washers give pause.

Very funny lines in there. "I've got a skin condition!!!"

High five for hypodermics to the neck.

Yeah, it came off as over the top, and I left it because I put it in the 'initial suspension of disbelief' pile. And, though the acting isn't great, I was going for absurd at that point. I guess I missed the mark in your book.

Thanks. I tried to get across a point while also being absurd, but I don't think it completely worked. I am more of a dialogue guy than anything else, so I'm glad you liked that scene.

You're talking about the muzzle flash, right (not the blood)? Kyle (the coproducer) thought it should be redone, but I decided to put the effects time into other shots (unfortunately ones that we shouldn't have had to modify).

I'd agree. The boom guy was new to the sound thing, but we were using a sennheiser me66, so it's probably a bit of my mixing. In the end I wasn't looking for an acoustic atmosphere, so I kinda let the sound rest pretty early in the edit.

Heh, I didn't really see that until we watched it again. Interesting observation. And, if done again, I'd probably do a good bit more with makeup. Partly for the audience, and partly because I think it helps the actor get into character. Thanks for taking time to comment.

I think making a movie just about Chase running around with the camera guy blowing zombies away would be funny to watch as long as his character was funny/obnoxious the whole time. Or maybe it just works because its so random.

I also got a Brad Pitt vibe at this end monolog...but, for whatever reason, I was feeling se7en.

I must say this was a clever idea.

I think this film is handicapped by the fact that there are a considerable amount of "Zombies In The Office/At The Workplace" submissions in the contest (hell, blame it on the collective consciousness.)

In any other setting I feel yours would have definitely stood out.

Heh, yeah, I wanted to shoot the rest of the monster killers episode for fun and run it under the credits, but unfortunately we'd have had to restage the whole final meeting just to get the footage from the perspective of the camera crew (chase was shot on a different day).

I agree about that point, but I think that my sucky logline didn't help, either .

It seems the short wasn't bad enough to get jeers, and not good enough to get raves, so it sits in the pile of 'eh, it's alright'. Kyle also said that the title might give people the wrong idea, and they'd be expecting something different, but I thought it was absurd enough to to work. Ah well.

Thanks to all who commented. And, if anyone has any more comments, they'd be appreciated. I'm wondering about how the score went over, as it was very last minute; and, if the final blood shot seemed natural.

It... was... almost... there!

If the acting had been better, and a more experienced DP had been shooting it, it could have ranked MUCH higher. Meaning, it was a funny idea, a really funny idea.

Definitely would have liked to have seen Frank look much worse than he did.

I would love to see a slightly re-written, re-shot, polished version of this. You were definitely close to having something great.

Not bad. I didn't like as much as the above posts. Maybe just too many zombie workplace stuff. I liked the opening and the zombie reveal but it just kind of limped along after that for me. Maybe it was also tha acting? I can't pinpoint it exactly. It just didn't work for me.
