Monoprice XLR cables

I haven't, but monoprice is known for selling quality cables. I've bought some DVI cables from them in the past and they're pretty reputable.

Something to consider..
I just looked at monoprice prices and a 10ft xlr costs about $7. (give or take)
Enlarging the pictures you can tell the connectors are an off brand, as I'm sure the cable is as well.

If you buy from a place like redco.com
and "roll your own"

You can get neutrik connectors and 10ft of mogami cable for about the same price.
(xlr's are extremely easy to solder)

To me its a no brainer.

Just another option for ya.

I am not a solder guy, so I go with Audio Technica cables. I'm not sure what connector they use, but I find the cables to be sturdy and they last and last. I think with balanced cables the sound is pretty much the same for all of them, so it's the durability that I go for. I do not buy into the hype of monster cables, as they are just overpriced. I don't know what good/reasonably priced cable WITH neutrik connectors are out there, and I don't even know why neutrik connectors are the standard, but I'd be interested in some links to reasonably priced ones you can just buy, because as I said, I don't solder or build stuff. Anyone got some liinks? I can say that out of all the xlr cables I've purchased through the years, these ATs are the only ones that have not gotten wonky at the ends where the connector connects to the cable. And the 30' ones are only 20.00!

Chad, some unsolicited advice for ya.
Go to radio shack spend 20bux on a solder iron and give it a try.
Before I got into it I thought it would be difficult and I didn't trust myself, etc.

Starting with XLR's I think you would be amazed at how easy it can be in a short amount of time.
I'm not saying to go out and start wiring neutricon 8pin connectors (the absolute worst connector in my own opinion)
but once you learn I bet you any money you'll be building yourself all kinds of custom cables to make your life easier for peanuts compared to buying the same ones,
AND more importantly being able to make cables that just don't exist pre made ready to buy.

I strongly recommend anyone in the audio biz to learn basic soldering. Trust me..it WILL come in handy.

+1
You are crazy if you don't make our own cables...couldn't be easier or cheaper...plus you can use quality cable & connectors!

You can do it.
