Does anyone regularly use a monopod with their HVX? I don't have the budget for a good qualiy tripod for the next few months, but I need something to steady shots so that I can film things like motorcycles from afar when I'm not allowed on the track.
How well does a monopod stabilize, and is there one that's recommended for the HVX? Ideally I want one that is light enough to keep attached to the camera in it's folded state for switching to moving hand held shots. Also, are there any quick release plates or heads that can really add to the flexibility or stability of using a monopod? Eventually I plan on getting a fig rig, DV rig, or the likes, so I'd want a monopod that works well with a 2 hand stabilizer too. And lastly, I don't want to break the bank - I was hoping for about $100 for the monopod and no more than $50 for a useful plate or head.
