monopod

Hey. I know tripods cause a panic in public, lol. But, have any of you had any problems in public places using a monopod? I ask because I went to a zoo to get some cool shots of animals and lots of my pics were blurry because of lack of a tripod. Especially using a tele lens. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I take my manfrotto monopod everywhere. Great as a walking stick too, very durable compact and reliable. Never causes a panic.

Tripods are too much trouble for me, but it's a personal preference I suppose and of course, you can't let go of your monopod
