Monopod vs. Tripod

Is there a trick to keeping a monopod still or is using a tripod the only real option?

I shots hours of wedding footage this weekend on my GH1 using mostly a monopod with a tilting head on top of it. I like portability of the monopod but there was still small amounts of camera movement visible on shots when I tried my best to keep the camera still. I would just switch to a tripod if I could find one that is quick and easy to move and adjust, just like using a monopod.
