Monitors

Without the express card slot, Matrox now has a thunderbolt adapter. Not sure how that works out with additional monitors.

I can recommend you this setup for mobility:

-Thunderbolt Macbook Pro (you already have) prefered the 17" (Rumors: this model go to be discontinued).
-Incoming Blackmagic UltraStudio Express thunderbolt (Expected availability: May 15 2012 at $495). I have the Thunderbolt Ultra Studio 3D at $995.
-Sony LMD-2110W 21.5" Professional LCD Monitor. (1080p, HDMI input, component, VGA, has a optional SD-SDI adapter).
-G-Technology 6TB G-RAID External Dual Hard Drive Array.

I mainly use a MacPro in the studio, only use the MacBook Pro when the project required, there´s no substitute to a workstation.
