Monitors (HD&HDTV) for DVX AND HD footage

I have a chance to get a deal on an Apple 23" HD Display but I'm concerned that my DVX (standard def) footage will be distorted when it plays due to the reduced resolution of standard def. Whatever it takes to see the image exactly as it will output is what I want.
My choices are Apple 23" HD, and Apple regular monitor OR...I was wondering if the new Sony LCD HD TV's with DVI would work well - with those I'm concerned that refresh might be slow at times or that there's something else I don't know about.
Both opportunities to get a deal on the HD Display and the Sony TV need to be decided today (these are used items that I can buy)...so any asap input would be hugely appreciated. Thanks and happy shooting everyone.

Broadcast CRT monitors are the best thing for looking at DV footage. The Cinema Display is great for looking at your timeline as you edit.
