Monitors for editing?

I'm torn on which monitor to buy for a Mac Pro. I'm looking to edit HD footage in FCP/After Effects... any suggestions?

I've been looking at the Apple 23" Cinema display, BenQ FP241W, Samsung 244T, and Dell 2407.

Do I really need a 23"? Does the additional $200-300 justify the cost?

As one who went from an Apple 20" to an Apple 23", I can say for me the extra 3" is a world of difference. Worth every penny.
As for the difference between brands, I've been labeled an "Apple guy" so I'm obviously willing to overpay for the Apple logo but I do think Apple monitors look great.

Well, the big diff with the Apple 23" is that it can do full HD (1080p) whereas the other guys you can't. As a monitoring solution the Cinema display will give you the best results from my tests.
