Monitoring audio issues

I have a mac pro and I am running a studio monitor out through dv and a canopus advc-100. the video is fine it is just the audio lags. Out of the canopus d/a there is only a rca out for audio and when connected to my panasonic bt-S901 it just sends out garbage.

I believe I need to get my audio feed out at the canopus to eleviate the audio lag coming from the computer but not sure how to do this since I am not getting satisfactory output from it.

What piece of equitment do most of you run to monitor audio out? I need headphones to use as I edit with other people close by.

n/m it is close enough going out from the onboard audio. I take the kona board is the hot ticket for this issue though?
