Monitor

Como's back. back again
Merry Christmas,

Just got my v9000 monitor, Ikan.

Do I HAVE To plug it in to the wall for power? I don't want to have to do that...

It says I can buy accessories that are like batteries, I guess.

They forgot to put in the shoe mount, so now I can't mount in my camera :(

Thanks

A quick google search revealed that you should have gotten the mount in the package with the monitor.

You will have to buy a battery adapter of your choice that is compatible if you want to use battery power. Looks like they offer Sony Battery adapters on the Ikan website.

Later,
Jason

Ya the manual says i should have. I got a little table stand, but that's not really what i want.

Thanks, have a good one

Just call the place it was bought from and tell them you didn't receive the shoe mount. They will either send you one, or have you send the monitor back for a replacement.

Later,
Jason

How much do they go for, i found one for 200 bucks.

Didn't I get one when I purchased my DVX? Will that work?

I'm looking for a cheap LCD with Vertical/Horizontal Flip functions for my DVX. Battery powered, shoe mount, and the option of putting a hood on the monitor are required.

Will the Ikan v9000 fit the bill?

Took it back :(...I want to thank some people on the board, including Drew for trying to tell me to not get one. For 500 bucks, I actually felt bad for my parents buying it for me cause it's not something that I NEED and I realized this once I got it.

I took it back, and I am putting the money toward Lighting. Much, much more useful.

I would do the same ninja.

Just for future reference, the resolution in that monitor is not up to par. It's 480x234. People looking for monitors should look for a higher resolution...

What's your budget?

cheap? my lilliput suits me and the SGpro just fine. (under $350 for everything)

got some money? search the boards.

I wouldn't say my budget is cheap, but who isn't looking to save money sometimes lol?

$350 sounds like a great deal, I'll look into that monitor thanks.

Maniero, can you tell us how you set it up in Europe? How do you convrt the HD-component to the VGA port of the Lilliput? Or do you use it in SD only?
