Monitor stand suggestions

So I have been assembling a nice small studio with my workstation, all in one space. I've done some audio treatment on the walls, carpets etc. and it is beginning to sound pretty decent. But my problem now is my desk (workstation!) with 2 visual monitors doesn't have a good way to place my audio monitors in anything like a decent position. The far wall is well, too far. So I am looking for options which might include a pair of stands. After looking through the BH site, I wasn't too thrilled with the options. Most of them seem like lightweight light stands or C-Stands with a different stud on the top. I have typical 8" monitors which probably weigh about 20# each. If C-stands are ok, I'll just have some aluminum shelves bent up and mount them on some heavy Mathews flex heads with foam below the speaker cases. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Edit: I already have a bunch of good quality C-Stands
 
I used to see the near field monitor pedestal stands occasionally.. they were sand filled. I recall they were quite solid, but don't recall the manufacturer(s) or price.
