Monitor for playback?

Ok so I posted either on here or on apple.com to find out the best video card to get for running to a tv as well as my cinema display, and I was told its better to just use my old canon optura to run through and into a tv. So now I am on the hunt for a 13" tv but not sure what to get. I work at a pawn shop so they come in all of the time and it will only cost me about $5-10, but I dont want to get a bad one. Should I say screw the pawn shop and look for one of those color video monitors as opposed to just a regular 13" tv, or does it not matter? I have been looking at the 13" trinitrons but i think my main concern is to get accurate color on the tv so I know what my final product will look like. thanks
Dustin

A real monitor is best since it provides accurate color, ease of adjustment, underscan, etc.
Unfortuantely you're looking at $1000+ for a good one. (You might be able to find smaller ones for $500+)
A lot depends on how critical the image and color is to you. Certainly even a TV is a great addition to the computer screen.

I'm in the same situation. Scott..Can you throw out a few model numbers for "good monitors". Thanks

I found a nice used Sony PVM 8020 on ebay for $200.00. It's about an 8 inch screen with underscan, blue, etc. Works great!

I have a Sony PVM-14L5
Take a look at B&H or some of the other suppliers to get a sense of production monitors.
Size and vendors affect the pricing of course.
If you're doign a lot of editing too small may be irritating.
As mentioend you can get from eBay but be careful. One of the reasons for a prod monitor is to get good color control. If it's been beatup and over used you may not be getting much.

JVC monitors are somewhat cheap and I haven't heard a bad thing about them. I use a TM-H1750 17" monitor and everyday I'm glad I invested that money. You can judge colours and picture quality really well, it has 16:9 and is so much better for your eyes, too.
