Monitor conundrum. What do I get?

I'm essentially an editor, and work from home a lot. In addition, I also have a small photography biz. The 27" cinema display is a bit out of budget right now. I just picked up an Asus ve249h and it's great, but not much bigger than my current 22" LCD. All the other 27" screens run at 1920x1080. Is there ANY advantage to picking up a 27 at this resolution?

I have and love the Dell u2711. Fantastic monitor for editing video, photos.... It's an IPS panel with 2560x1440 resolution with a very wide color gamut. List is about $1100 (more than the cinema display) but Dell always puts out coupons that discount it to around $800. Got mine a while back for right around $750. Cinema display is LED backlit and the Dell is fluorescent backlit, but I seem to recall reading that the panel they use is exactly the same.

The Dell also has a ton of different inputs (HDMI, 2 DVIs, VGA, Component video, composite video, 4 USB 2.0, 8 in 1 card reader). Apple has a built in camera, speakers, and 3 USB, but no HDMI or any of the other inputs.

Oh and Dell takes a few seconds to turn on when waking up for sleep. I thought it would bother me but it doesn't.

I love this thing.
