mod-cavision setup

I've been trying to workout the balance with the Cavision shoulder support and grips. It always was to heavy on my hands.

so I've mounted the Cavision shoulder support onto a quick plate to get it right on the balance point. Then the leftover arm from the shoulder support I've mounted onto the grips to mount my external display (cheap but helps)

the black box is a 12v battery pack for the monitor

What Philips monitor is that? I have a similar setup but using a noga arm which helps to get the monitor where you need it.

Thanks,

Gmoe

Nice setup. But, how do you mount the shoulder support to the quick plate? Mine does not have any hole or screw to use.

pmark, the screen is great for a free screen with a DVD player, that said its not close to an HD screen but I'm used to it and make it work for me. Now if I had money......

Abe, the manfrotto quick plate has 4 counter sunk holes that you pre-drill and screw in taping screws (not too tight).

What battery is that? Any info on it? Any how are you liking the indian FF? Any play? How do you feel it compares to the other stuff? And can we see it mounted on your shoulder? I wanna see how it sits.

the battery pack is just a 8xAA battery holder in a kit box from an electronics store. Then velcro-ed to the mount. I love the FF for the price. I've used a few different brands and play has nothing to do with price it seems, but the play on the indian FF is very little (but still there)

Where did you get that L bracket thingy where you attached the extension piece?

Better yet, where did you get your cavision stuff? Did you order directly from cavision?

So you screwed straight into the plastic? Not quite sure how you attached the quickplate.
