Hello Guys, need some help for a set up... I'm planning on getting interviews recorded into Mini Disc with my MKH416 but the MD, as you know, won't supply the needed phantom power (was that intelligible at all?)... what would be the best solution on your opinion you great sound gurus? I've checked for some phantom power boxes or whatever the name is, and found something from sennheiser hugely expensive, I've thought even about recording to the Mini DV tapes using the phantom from the camera but I found it a bit of a bulky solution. (also a way to plug my XLR cable into the mini jack input on the MD it's a mistery, any sugestions there?)... please any help will be much apreciated... thanks a lot ladies and gentelman... sorry about my crapy english!

buy a zoom recorder - for 300 bucks , you have recorder with phantom power + nice device for days you need back up your camera .
keep it simple - mic - cable-recorder
if the md has mic input , you can buy phantom power suply box from denekey or psc for around 120-150 us which works on batteries
