MKH 416 = Outdated?

I have a Rode NTG-3. It seems like a good mic, but I use it outdoors only; the AT4053b is the mic I use for interiors. I find I don't have to use so sound absorption. It is very quiet. For outdoors, if you can get away with micing each actor solely on separate takes, I prefer doing that. Make sure you are on the talent the camera is on. Thst works for me. I find I invariably miss the end or start of a dialog if I'm whipping the mic around to try to get the dialog when ot's spoken. Plus if people are talking over one another, you are sunk.
