I have a Sen. MKH-414T. It has a small xlr on the rear. Does any one know what the small connector is called or where I can buy one preffer a hard adapter with no wire. I'm trying to convert it to standard XLR to insert into my SD 302 12v t power. I don't think i need the 12v to 48v converter because this mic is going in to a blimp.

Thanks

Better check with Sennheiser's service department as well - just because it looks like a smaller version of an XLR connector doesn't mean the pin assignments are the same as an XLR would be. I wouldn't plug anything into it until I knew the cable was wired correctly.

It's basically a DIN connector *not* an XLR!

It's actually a "Tuchel" connector - this is a screw-lock DIN - and this was the standard mic. connector for many years and preferred by the BBC over the XLR as it held the connection tight round the whole edgge rather than just at one point.

Pin connections are:-
Pin 1 = +ve
Pin 2 = screen
Pin 3 = -ve

(please note that the pins are different from an XLR)

BRH had it correctly.
