MKE2: K6 alternative needed

I've got a MKE2 lav that belonged to a wx setup that no longer works. I'd like to use it as a wired lav now, but don't have the funds to purchase a K6 power module.

Question is: is there an alternative to the K6 or can I get an adapter to plug into an xlr cable. Markertek sells a mini xlr connector and xlr gender changer that would take care of the physical connection, but powering it is where I'm lost. I'm recording on a H4N that can supply both 24 and 48 phantom power.

Thanks!

Actually, the K6 is *not* the way to go.

What connector is on the MKE 2 now?

Canford Audio in the UK do Electret Microphone Adaptors.

There are several versions that you plug your microphone from your transmitter into and it converts it to an XLR connector - there is a pcb inside that balances the microphone and also takes in the 48V phantom and converts it into the low voltage plug-in power that the mec. requires.

Canford also do the Voice Technologies that can also take a battery.

They are not expensive, but the Voice Technology one is about 50% more than the Canford one.

I hope this helps.

The cable is a mini xlr ta3? But curious.... I have a countryman e6 wired for wired for sen that thus might work. Thanks for the info.

There is some strange wiring inside the connector. Will photo and post for input.
