MJPEG quality and editing?

I just got a Panasonic ZS7 still camera that also shoots both AVCHD-Lite and MJPEG video,
both outputting as 1280 x720. I have VegasPro-8 (8.1) and found it not too happy with AVCHD-Lite.
I would like to keep using it being as it stores much more on my card. MJPEG on the other hand
eats up the card. How do you folks find MJPEG in terms of quality and editing.
Thanks.

MJPEG is not as good as h.264, not by a long shot. If you really want to keep this camera and edit in good quality you should upgrade to Vegas Pro 10, which has major enhancements for h.264, and so this type of footage is now real-time. Personally I wouldn't use MJPEG.
