I am interested in mixing KINO flos and china balls. What is the process of mixing the two different color temperatures since one is warmer while the other cooler.
So, quick review, Kinoflos can be lamped with either tungsten equivalent 3200K tubes or daylight 5600K tubes. China balls usually used incandescent bulbs, usually 3200K photofloods but they're great with household compact fluorescent globes as well.
Sounds like you want to use daylight balanced light. As suggested, use 5600K CFLs from Home Depot or one of the other big box stores. On eBay and elsewhere you can buy a widget that will let you use up to four CFLs that screws into a single socket. You can use four 100W equivalent globes and get decent light output.
These consumer CFLs aren't perfect, they don't have really high color rendering accuracy, but they do a good job, such as on skin, and you'll find them very useful for low dollars. They match the Kinos quite well, though I would key with the Kinos and do something else with the China ball.
Have we gotten right to your question or do you still have concerns?
