Mixing HVX200 Squeeze and Normal foortage into 4:3

I have run into a bit of a conundrum and was wounding if there is an easy solution.

I shot 2 episodes of my documentary on MiniDV with the HVX200 and am in the process of editing them right now. The footage was shot months ago using Normal mode but the B-Roll I shot this week was made with the Squeeze mode.

The finished product of these two episodes will be the standard 4:3. So I am faced with the following dilemma. Can I use the footage I shot in Squeeze without messing up my sequence and aspect ratio or do I need to re-shoot in Standard mode? It is okay that I chop the edges of the 16:9 B-Roll footage. How do I do this in FinalCut Pro?

Sure you can use it. Either drop the footage into a 4:3 sequence to letterbox it or adjust the aspect ratio and distort settings in the motion tab of one of the shots. When it looks proper, copy it and paste attribute to the others. It will be a lot easier if you arrange your timeline so that all of the squeeze shots are on one track.
