Mixing formats...

I have been using my anamorphic adapter exclusively but will need to use my wide angle lens for a couple shots (and maybe even my 1.6 telephoto later) for a couple scenes that I want in the same project. My question is: Do I use these adapters in normal mode and then just crop them in post so they fit with the rest of my work done with the 16x9 adapter? ???

No, I'm sorry (I don't think in complete sentences so I'm seldom clear the first go 'round ... <g>.). My project is 16x9 widescreen. I will be using my anamorphic for 90+ percent of it, but will have to use the panasonic wide conversion lens (AG-LW7208) in a couple of cramped locations (small rooms) where the anamorphic will not permit the shot I am looking for. Not to confuse the issue but I may also end up using my Century Optics 1.6 telephoto for one shot outside. Both of these will yield a 4x3 result. I am trying to figure the best way to incorporate them into my 16x9 project? I am thinking I can either shoot with them in squeeze mode or, normal mode and then stretch & crop them to fit the 16x9 format in post . . .

But... the anamorphic will give you a WIDER field of view than the Panasonic AG-LW7208 lens will. You won't get nearly as wide a field of view with the Panasonic wide-angle as you will with the anamorphic! So, don't even worry about that.

With the telephoto lens, yes if there's the potential for needing to use that lens, you'd need to go to squeeze mode when using it. Definitely test. But there will never come a time when the Panasonic wide-angle will give a wider field of view than the Anamorphic adapter will.

Barry- I did some testing last night...thanks, that pretty much settles it. BTW, thanks for the book too (it's become a little "dog eared" from use), and has a permanent place on my nightstand when I'm in house. David :D

I am wondering what kind of results you found when using the anamorphic adapter and the telephoto. I have recently purchased the 1.6 telephoto lens and I'm hoping to shoot with 2 cameras. One will have the anamorphic and one with telephoto. Is this a possibility, or will the cuts be too obvious?
