Mixing DVX and HVX SD footage in squeeze mode question.

Alright, so the other day I was shooting some pick ups for a job we shot a few months ago with the DVX-100A.

We originally shot 24PA on the DVX-100A using Squeeze Mode to get 16x9.

For our pickups I was using my new HVX-200 in SD mode shooting to tape. But instead of shooting in squeeze mode, I just shot in "letterboxed" mode, which, since the HVX has 16X9 imagers, I thought would be better, and use the full resolution of the CCD's, and still be 16x9.

Now the editor of the project is calling me asking how he can get his FCP system to capture the letterboxed stuff from the HVX to correctly match with the squeeze mode stuff from the DVX.

Please any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You should have used squeeze. Letterbox is 4:3 video with black bars on it, not 16x9 video.

The editor will have to vertically stretch the letterbox footage to get it to match the DVX's squeeze footage.
