Mixing different ProRes

I know this sounds strange, but is it possible to mix regular ProRes 422 with HQ footage in either a regular or HQ sequence without conflict?

Sorta- whatever the format is currently set to in the sequence settings will be what everything is ultimately rendered to. But for editing/playback I wouldn't see any issues.

Thanks. I've heard that HQ is overkill, but there are also a few out who suggest editing in a ProRes HQ sequence there's a noticeable difference. Is there a final word on this or should I keep my sequence as straight ahead ProRes 422? Final output will be for large screen. I'm working on a Pro Mac 2.66 GHz quad core, and using 30P Canon 7D and XH-A1s ProRes footage.

The HDV footage is captured in HDV- ProRes 422 (should it be HQ?), and the 7D is converted to ProRes 422 via Mpeg Streamclip. Is this the best workflow?

depends on the situation. If you're going to web or DVD- definitely overkill. If you're going out to HD on a big screen it can come in handy. Not really a night and day diff.

I believe those numbers are for 1080/24p. But there's not a lot of fluctuation so...
