Mixing audio channels accidently?

I've been recording with two XLR inputs on my DVX. Whenever i capture the footage, only one audio track shows up, but i can hear two very distinct tracks coming from my left and right speaker (lav and boom). IS there an option on the DVX that I missed to prevent the linking of the two tracks? how do i seperate them in post in something like vegas?

thanks

I don't know what software you are capturing with, but it sounds like you just need to change the capture option from stereo to dual mono.

Easy fix. It just records them on the left and right channels. 2 Mono Tracks.

Put your audio on the timeline. Duplicate it to the track below it. (So now you have two versions of the same thing.)

Right-click on one of them and choose CHANNELS/LEFT ONLY. On the other one, choose CHANNELS/RIGHT ONLY. There you go.

You might want to select all of the events by shift-clicking (both audio tracks and the video) them. Then either press "G" or Right-Click and choose GROUP/CREATE NEW. This will help you not lose sync when you first start editing by grouping all of the tracks together. Make sure you are in sync when you group them thouh.

Hope this helps.
