Mixing adapter and non-adapter footage

I know there's been some info and some sample clips elsewhere here on this topic, but I thought I'd request an update on the question, particularly in light of recent developments such as the Letus Extreme and, less recently, the Brevis.

I have an adapter and lenses earmarked for my '08 budget (gotta keep the tax deductions properly distributed!), and it looks like the Letus EX will be the choice, but I haven't ruled out the Brevis yet, particularly with the Filp version due soon.

Light loss and effective F-stop limitations being part of the price of admission in any of these products however, along with my HVX200's own hunger for light, has me pondering the merits of mixing adapter and non-adapter footage in a given project. Style-wise I'll be doing mainly narrative features and shorts.

For night/dark scenes in particular, where shadows might make shallow DOF less of a weighty issue, and where of course all the accumulated light-hungriness is at its worst, it seems it would be great to be able to shoot sans adapter and use less light accordingly.

So the question is, for those who've tried it, how has it worked out? Do you generally find unacceptably unnatural texture and "look and feel" changes when intercutting adapter and non-adapter footage? Is it significantly less so in darker scenes, or in any other particular shooting scenario?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

It does work.
Search for the dramafest entry Katrina.
The night footage outdoors is sans adapter and it's not distacting at all.
