Mixing 24P footage with 29.97 footage

I work on a show where we have to mix a lot of 24P footage (Well, 24Pa actually) with 29.97 footage shot on lesser cameras. I used to be able to mix both types of video in Adobe Premiere 6.5 without a problem. However, now I've got Pro 1.5 and as we all know there's problems mixing the two within that program.

I'm really tired of Premiere 6.5 and I'd really rather not use it anymore. So what's the verdict on later versions of Premiere? Does the 1.5.1 addition allow me to mix these types of footage? Is it fixed in Pro 2.0?

Just what should I do here?
 
I use the software Dvfilm Maker. You can convert 29.97 to 23.9 or 24p. There are others like Magic Bullet with After Effects. I use Dvfilm Maker with PPro1.5
