Mixing 24p and 29.97

I'm working on a documentary and have a ton of VX2100 and PD150 footage that I plan to edit in with some 24p shot on a DVX100B. The project will be finished to either DVD or MiniDV. Is it possible to mix these two and keep true 24p? Is it important whether I shoot 24p or 24pa? Basically I just need the best solution, so any help is much appreciated.

i've done that before though and it doesnt look the same as 24p that's been edited 23.98.
 
It should have the motion sense as 24p, just as feature films transferred to video.
If you convert 29.97 to 24p then you're going to be dropping frames and fields. Usually not the best solution. You'll also want to use software specific to this (or Nattress plugin?) and don't count on FCP to do this.

You can, but it will look jerky. You've got to remove the Advanced pulldown and put back in Normal pulldown. I've got a filter that does this, otherwise, you're rendering out to tape and back.
