i was experimenting yesterday taking audio from a mackie 1202 mixer into my hVX 200. as i listened in my headphones (from the hvx) the mix sounded totally different from what was coming through the mixer. i took 1/4 main outputs from the mixer and xlr inputs into the hvx200. i think i'm missing something about audio and the hvx.

help !!!

I don't know specifically about the HVX but did you make sure that you turned of phantom power, put the gains to 0 or -10 and removed any audio eqs or filters?

i don't know how to turn off phantom power and which gains ?? sorry for my dumbness, i've always used the onboard mic or lavs.

If you look at the back of your HVX 200 there are 2 dials labeled audio ch1 and ch2 you should set these dials to the center or a little to the left and make sure that they are set to the same value.

oh yeah, i did that. i had them both at 12 o'clock. i have heard -12 and -18 work the best. i'm gonna look at my settings one more time tonight and get back with you. i want to start video taping concerts and having the FOH audio come into my HVX sounding like doodoo is not what i want.

watch out for feeds from FOH... What I mean, take care of "mic levels" "line levels" -10dBu, +4dBu
