Hello to all.

I would like to get the best possible sound in my DVX100A Pal.

I am thinking of buying a mixer to be able to control the sound that arrives to the camera better. That advantages have using a mixer between the mic and the camera? is there great sound difference between to have or not to have the mixer?

That you find this model for external shoots?

Re: mixer...best sound?

Seems cheap enough, but then you get what you pay for. Also looks like only one main out which means mono signal..No left - right separation
Adding a mixer gives you the ability to shape the sound ie less vocals more ambience etc. also allows you to have as many inputs to the final mix as you have channels on the board. You can also eq each source. Quality of sound depends on many factors; signal to noise ratio and all that good tech stuff.

Portable field mixers are for the sound person to have independant inputs, outputs and controls away from the camera. If you have no sound person and you don't need to ride the levels and you don't have more than 2 sources, then you don't need a mixer.
if you need to ride levels of several sources then you'll be happy with a quality field mixer. Most have 3 or 4 inputs and one or two stereo pairs of outputs along with headphone controls and other aids to good sound.
A boom operator MUST hear what they're doing. One of the best ways to monitor is through the headphone circuit of the portable mixer.
