Missing clips within projects in Vegas 9

I've seen around the net as I educate myself on my new tools (Vegas 9 64, Win 7 64, i7 CPU) that one of the problems was files disappearing in V9.

I have a feature film that is nearly finished and I was going to wait to upgrade my pc until it was done, but then the board fried and if I'm spending $ I might as well get something that's a big leap forward, so into 64 bit I go.

I've done this film with double nesting (edit scenes in one file, nest the scene files in Reels of approx. 20 minutes, then nest the reels in a master project where I add music etc)

I found that as I'd feared, my double nested master project file was missing clips, when I went into the sub files they were there. Ack.

After a bit of fooling around, I think I found a workaround to this bug. If I start off opening one of my scenes, then open the reel it is nested in, THEN open the master file, everything is there and in place. When I just open the master cold then I have problems.

So if anyone has this problem, hopefully that will work for them too. Until 9.0a appears and they take care of this...

Now just have to figure out why the timeline is so friggin choppy compared to before... even with the nesting it used to hold steady at 23.976...

If you have found a bug, and a workaround, you should be reporting it to Sony so they can fix it. Otherwise, it might never get fixed.
