Mirror?

My question is, how can you film someone infront of a mirror without seeing the camera on a parallel angle with the mrror?

NOt sure if you want a shot of talent and talent reflection but and obviously aside from being comlpletley off on one side... Several ways

1. Is there an area where the camera can 'dissapear' from view into darkness for an OTS?
2. Shoot above the talent looking slightly downward; just so the camera is out of view
3. Shoot below the talent looking slightly upwards; just so the camera is out of view

(Could even cheat it more and letterbox over it)

4. Shoot straight into talent; giving the perception and POV of talent looking at his/herself after establishing mirror

I don't know. WHat are trying to do here? It's not too hard.

Just watched a Robin Williams movie called "The Final Cut". Very strange movie, don't remember seeing it in theaters, but anyway, they had a scene in it where they are shooting a guy in a bathroom mirror and on the DVD they explain how the shot was done in the "making of" segment. They had a mirror frame, but no mirror... the camera shot straight through the frame and they had a duplicate of the sink on each side of the frame... I know I'm not explaining it right. Rent the movie for a cool "how to" segment.

Two methods..

Two methods..

Method 1: Choose camera angles very carefully!

Method 2: Make frame of mirror or just have a rectangular chroma green or blue in area where mirror should be. Flip footage horizontally and clip matte the composite. (The DVD I have of the movie "Contact" has some great compositing examples of this exact technique in their extras area)

Cheers

What about shooting through a double sided mirror?
It would work if the tint isn't too dark to film through.
