Anyone have an idea of the cheapest laptop system you can use avid xpress to edit HD HVX footage - It doesnt need to be certified. It just needs to work.
If mac you can use the Macbook (cheapest) or Macbook pro.
You'll most likely want to use an external drive for the media.
PC is harder - I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 (pretty old) that works OK (not great) for editing my HVX HD 720pn footage in a pinch. I mainly use it to dump footage in the field, it's great for that.
