minimum lumens needed

I recently bought an OPTEKA brand portable video light for my DVX100.
It came with a 12v 100watt 20 par bulb which eats up my battery in about half an hour. I'm having a hell of a time trying to locate lower wattage bulbs for it.
Problem is that the base is an E26 medium standard base fitting(household).
I thought maybe a better alternative would be an LED 12v with an E26 base.
I found a couple of place in my city but I don't know what minimum lumens to start at. I want a fairly bright light for shooting taking heads etc.
Any ideas on what I should look for and maybe where I can get such an item
would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

check out the ratings at www.vidled.com. I've got the dayled and its too bright for most talking head shots. So less than that as far as lumens would be fine. By the way, the dayled dims quite well so too bright is not a problem at all :)

Vidwerk, you might try something like this which has an E26 base and 6200K color temp which isn't perfect but workable:

But is also available in a 3200K tungsten color (very workable!) and he sells on ebay too.

They are reported to work with a 120v dimmer which is nice so no special dimmer needed. The price is right at around $27 with shipping and it comes in at 6.7watts which is under your "budget" of 12 watts too.

I haven't had a chance to try this bulb yet but I did meet the company here at a lighting fair and it looked really good. If you try it, be sure and report back your findings!

By the way, I was just looking at this guy's store on Ebay to see if he had anything new and I saw this 30 LED strip which looks interesting. It's not the E26 base you wanted but another option:

Doesn't list the color temperature though so you'd need to write and find out what it is. They're listed as "bright white" (LOL) but at $26 with shipping it's another easy experiment.

Thanks for the suggestion. However 120v won't do. There are plenty of them out there but no 12v.
I did manage to find a 24 LED edison base 12v bulb, which I bought, but it's not really bright enough for me.
Would be great to simulate moonlit scenes though. I made some test shots with it.

Oh yes, sorry, I see that now you said 12v. ;-( You'd need an inverter and it's not worth it. 12v with an edison base is definitely rare.
