Minimum flange/focal distance for a mirrorbox?

Just a random curiousity, but what is likely the minimum flange to focal distance required for a full frame 35mm SLR mirror?
 
Cat flap geometry..

FF35 is 24mm high so the minimum possible would be 24mm, but give 3mm for the mount and 1mm for the mirror thickness and another couple for the swing mechanism I guess 27 would be a minimum?
 
Thank you. I should have thought about that a little more. Of course one should start with the height of the mirror. lol :)
